Funds Needed for Poorly Stray Rescued on Halloween

We are hoping to raise some urgent funds for a stray cat collected tonight from Plumstead.

Initially, we collected the tabby and white boy purely for neutering, a health check, and microchip scan , with a view to add him to the waiting list and get him in at the earliest date possible, but upon collecting him it was apparent that he was in a desperately bad condition.

He's very old, dirty, and riddled with not only fleas but also ticks, which are dangerous. He will likely need antibiotics and to be tested for FIV and FELV at the very least; who knows what further examination will reveal.

At first, volunteers suspected that he was feral, but the second he was handled it was apparent he was just terrified; he's been fed by a very kind local lady but likely not touched directly for years.

The reason CatCuddles had planned to bring him in for rehoming at a later date is not only the invariable lack of space - there are at least five stray cats on the waiting list already at present - but because we're currently low on funds.

We had vowed to stick to bringing in sponsored cats only in the next few weeks, as kitten season coupled with lots of recent complicated cases means we're now dipping into our North London fund. We'd hoped to give our bank account a breather, a chance to replenish itself.

But then this has happened, and we cannot feally face releasing a cat in such poor shape.

It may be overly ambitious to attempt to get a cat in when we have neither space nor money, but we must try. Please do consider donating even a small amount. It's obvious this boy has been on the streets for years and we’d rather he didn't spend another day out there.
