Tolstoy Adoption Appeal - Special Needs Kitten Needs An Understanding Home

This feisty little boy is a feral kitten trapped recently in North London. We called him Tolstoy. Unbeknownst to us on arrival, Tolstoy would have a very short, painful life ahead of him had he remained in the streets...

Special Needs Kitten for Adoption London

During his vet check and after observation while being fostered we realised his rectal passage was tiny and always blocked to the extent that the pressure of what was in his colon to come out was such that his whole abdominal area felt like a giant tumour. It was all compacted faeces...

The little fella has a severely deformed colon and rectal area that without intervention is painfully fatal. We have had him under sedation four times already to perform a special kind of enema technique that dislodged all of the “backlog” and made him comfortable and bouncy again. Seeing him lively again made it clear : his zest for life is there, so we cannot watch him wilt away without trying a permanent cure.

His need now is for no common surgery, so we decided to look at referral specialists across the country for a solution. He essentially needs a new lower digestive system and a new rectum.

We have had responses by a number of referral specialists. With the most charity-friendly option this will cost in excess of £2,500 (including charity discount) assuming no complications and with post-operative care we can provide in-house at our clinic.

So, as with all tall orders, we come to our supporters with it to request your help so we can jointly give Tolstoy what he needs. We do not have a target, just wish to put Tolstoy ‘s story out there and see who is willing to pitch in and become this little one’s co-benefactor with this unexpected but absolutely necessary expense.

Make no mistake, Tolstoy will have his life saving operation this week. In fact we are travelling to the specialist tomorrow morning bright and early to get things rolling. Your donation will make this commitment to his recovery less stressful, at least financially, with the new clinic taking all of our spare resources to be fully resourced.

Donations for Tolstoy can be made via our website Donate page, via PayPal and for those who prefer online banking, the charity bank account is on the same page:
